‼️ Due to the criminal actions of the ruscists, a primary-to-secondary reagent leak continues at the Zaporizhzhia NPP power unit 5
As a result of moving power unit 5 of the temporarily occupied ZNPP to the «hot shutdown» state – in violation of the terms of the license of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine and the requirements of Energoatom – a primary-to-secondary reagent leak incident occurred. Despite the existing violations, the occupation leadership is in no hurry to put the unit into a «cold shutdown» state, using the steam generated by power unit 5 for heating and meeting the power plant's in-house needs.
Due to the incompetence of the russian staff, in particular, the Chemistry Service Shift Supervisor, who lost control over the saturation of the water cleanup filters, the borated water of the primary circuit enters the deaerator of the turbine hall and from there again to all steam generators.
«The actions of the ruscists are completely incompetent. Their efforts to remove power unit 3 from repair and warm it up to a «hot shutdown» state rather than to bring power unit 5 to a «cold shutdown» state is another attempt to continue nuclear blackmail and damage the equipment of another NPP power unit,» President of SE «NNEGC «Energoatom» Petro Kotin stressed.
Such actions of the occupationists can lead to the loss of integrity of the steam generator tubes, which definitely does not comply with the regulations for the safe operation of the NPP power unit.
«By their actions, the invaders once again endanger the safety of operation of the power plant and cause the constant degradation of the equipment and the increase in the frequency of dangerous cases of its failures. And this can lead to an emergency at any moment,» the head of Energoatom added.
As a reminder, several emergencies have already occurred at the Zaporizhzhia NPP due to violation of license conditions by the occupationists, the latest of which was on November 14, 2023. A partial blackout occurred due to the incompetence of the russian invaders and employees of rosatom state corporation. ZNPP power unit 6 went to blackout mode, so the diesel generators and safety systems started operating. The power unit was in this mode for 90 minutes...
Earlier, a danger was recorded at power unit 4. Due to its heating, a primary-to-secondary radioactive coolant (water) leak occurred, which is a violation of one of the barriers on the path of the spread of radioactive contamination.
A similar situation occurred while attempting to «warm up» power unit 6. Additionally, the dumb decision of the current «management» of the power plant to move it to a «hot shutdown» state caused a significant increase in liquid radioactive waste on the power plant site, which is potentially harmful to personnel, the general public and the environment.
