Another senior defence official in the Russian military has been arrested after being accused of taking a large bribe, Russian media has reported.

General Vadim Shamarin, the deputy chief of General Staff, has appeared in court and he's the fourth senior official to be arrested since April.

Earlier this month, President Vladimir Putin removed Sergei Shoigu as his defence minister, and replaced him with the former deputy prime minister, Andrei Belousov.

It was a move seen as an attempt by the Kremlin to boost the army's efficiency and tackle corruption.

He wasn’t bribed, he just underperformed.

If only he were more corrupt, he wouldn't be arrested.

Shit, charging a man with murder in this place was like handing out speeding tickets at the Indy 500.

What about changes in Ukraine? Did BBC and CNN make a story? Tell us about the collapse of the Ukraine frontline or Ukrainians being forced to join the military or Ukraine corruption.

Corruption is the biggest threat to Russia but not the most corrupted Ukraine in Europe.

That is the new defense minister already having an impact. The new guy is a economics whiz, not a military guy----Putin put him in charge precisely to get the Military into top financial shape. When you are preparing to fight 30 enemies all by yourself, there can be no waste or inefficiency.

This is Putin blaming others for his huge mistake.

"Bribery charges" is a euphemism for taking too much out of the skim. Capo Vadim is in trouble with the Boss.

He needs to stay away from open windows on very tall buildings. And he needs to avoid going on private jets, as well as sitting down with Putin for cup of polonium tea.
