Ukrainian officials said they've gained over 2,300 square miles of territory from Russian forces in their counteroffensive. CBS News anchors Errol Barnett and Lilia Luciano spoke with retired Lt. Gen. Ben Hodges, a former commanding officer for the U.S. Army in Europe and a senior adviser for Human Rights First, about whether this means an endgame is in sight.

I love the way the Russians show respect to Zelenskyy by putting his initial on all of their military vehicles and hardware.

Russia is not retreating. They are simply demonstrating that their troops are superior at running long distance than Ukrainian troops.

The General has been consistent and correct throughout. You can only admire his insight.

The one thing we have learned about the Russia Ukraine war is that Russia's military is a lot weaker than we previously thought.

Ukraine gets more and better equipment from the West every single day, while Russia, under brutal sanctions, has fewer and older equipment to field every day. They are already bringing up tanks from the 1960's. It will only get worse for them because it CAN only get worse.

Russia has decided to turn thisinto a biathlon kind of thing. First, a 100-mile run. Then, a swim across the Dnipr.

Would have so much simpler to have let Ukraine in NATO then to not and then give them all the NATO weapons. I think Ukraine would be better NATO partner then Turkey of all countries..

Prior to 24 February 2022 everyone-and-his-brother (apart from the Kremlin) thought that 190, 000 troops were insufficient to successfully invade the whole of Ukraine.
Russia can only advance on one front at a time which leads to difficult choices.
It is entirely possible that having secured Kharkiv Oblast, rather than trying to invade Luhansk Oblast Ukrainian forces will move on Melitopol to sever the land bridge between Russia and Crimea.
If Ukrainian forces can retake Kherson Oblast in the coming months it is possible they will also eventually take Crimea.
